Flutterbys

Today while hiding out in the speech room, I got to watch one of the speech teachers working with Ms. I Cut My Own Hair. They were working on her ability to hear a variety of descriptors about a picture then be able to guess what the noun was being described. After a few rounds, Ms. I Cut My Own Hair wanted to let the teacher guess while she determined the descriptors.

Speech Teacher: "Ok, Ms. I Cut My Own Hair. Here is a card. I'm ready for a clue."

Ms. I Cut My Own Hair: "Say butterfly."

Speech Teacher: "Remember, Ms. I Cut My Own Hair, you are supposed to give me a clue to see if I can guess what is on the card."

Ms. I Cut My Own Hair (louder now): "Say butterfly."

Speech Teacher (trying not to laugh): "Maybe you could say something like 'It has wings' or 'It likes flowers.' Don't just tell me what it is."

Ms. I Cut My Own Hair (giving the teacher the stink eye): "SAY BUTTERFLY!"

Speech Teacher (about to wet her pants because of holding in the laughter): "Butterfly."

Ms. I Cut My Own Hair (nodding in approval): "Vedy good. Sometimes you are stubborn."

Do you think maybe she has heard something about being stubborn before?

That is really adorable. And makes me cringe wondering what my little Mr. I Cut My Own Hair says to his teachers. ;-)

I agree with her, why beat around the bush?

She cuts her own hair?!?!!?! What the hell does the back of it look like.

My god I shudder to think what I would look like - although, I probably WILL look like that soon. Has she written a handbook perhaps??

PS is your blog supposed to be white now? I can't tell if you changed it, or if my internet is all f'd up. Please advise, it is driving me crazy.

I'm picturing Bambi and Thumper.

Kristina - Ha! You are right!

Midwest Mommy - This girl is often hilarious. Sometimes aggravating but still hilarious.

darsden - Thanks for noticing the photo. I took that last fall. Those butterflies are so hyper I think they have ADHD. Just my thoughts.

Amy - Don't worry about what they say. MOST educators are rather humored by the randomness that comes out of their mouths.

followthatdog - True. She is saving time.

Michel - OMG! I didn't think about who'd cut your hair. It'll be ok. We won't make fun of you. At least you won't know we are making fun of you. And the green background just disappeared one day! Vamoose. It ticked me off and I just left the background white. My blog sometimes hates me.

Pseudo - I never even thought of Bambi and Thumper. Classic!

Braja - She really is a stubborn one. Thankfully we are humored by her. And that Bambi and Thumper reference is perfect. Her new name could be Bambi.

hahaha...I like that girl's style...maybe because I just got back from the stylist, hated my hair, and re-cut it (ruining it). ha!

I'd say something about Ms. I Cut My Own Hair, but she reminds me of The Young One when he was very small. Life was interesting in those days (now he's just a smart ass that refuses to cut his hair).

Oh - I've got something for you over at my place.

Ms Cut My Own Hair is going to run for president one day, mark my words. Anyone that stubborn is a politician at heart!

I actually like the white background, easier to read.

The speech lady should start doing UNO instead. I had speech until 3rd grade and the speech teacher did UNO.

As another "speech teacher" (who thinks my principal rocks) I think it's hilarious that you hide out in the speech room. Of course everyone knows that the speech room is the best place to be so why wouldn't the principal?!

Um yeah...I have a Miss I Cut My Own Hair too...and thankfully she has become a Miss My Bangs Finally Don't Look Like Mia Farrow Frankenbangs...the attitude is still there though.....hmmmm...

Every time I read yours and VM's blogs, I wish I would have became a teacher.

Every day is a party and even the bad days have some little joy.
