Nurse Nancy LOVES her job!

I have what I consider to be the most dedicated of all school nurses working at my school. Nurse Nancy is awesome with the students and the overly dramatic parents. She even takes care of the teachers.

Several times a week, Nurse Nancy makes pronouncements about how much she loves her job which is GREAT because the state only pays her the salary of a sanitation worker! We love that Nurse Nancy loves her job because who else could handle all the puke. And someone pukes almost every day.

Last week, the one of the Kindergarten classes wrote letters to various people who help in the school. One particular student wrote one for Nurse Nancy. I think it may explain something about why she loves her job so much.

And why do you love your job?

This Tuesday Tribute is in honor of school nurses every where. May others appreciate their hardwork and dedication while merely working for peanuts.

hahaha!!!

I'm serious, any person I've ever known named "Nancy" has been a really really really sweet person. Enjoy.

OMG! That lady is totally right. Every Nancy I know is happy and sweet too. Funny that is not our names...

I "love" my job because when I am overseas I get to park wherever I want, I never have to stand in lines, I cannot be arrested and the people they send to follow me everywhere I go seem to keep me out of trouble.

The actual WORK may suck, but the life rocks!

I remember going almost daily to my elementary school nurse. She would always let me lie down for a minute before sending me back to class.

Once a drama queen....

Our school nurse was named Rosemary and she was beautiful with long hair down her back. Thanks for the memory.

Now, however, I'm picturing her as a dominatrix. Thanks to little kindergartner.

My daughter used to hang out in the nurse's office in 5th and 6th grade and was called a "helper." It was nice because itgave her a place to go and feel wanted and useful and she was geting picked on on the playground.

Your kindergarten students are obviously advanced. Seriously, that is some excellent invented spelling. Way better than my students can produce.

I love our school nurse so much. She saves my ass at least once per day.

Great post, Beth.

OMG I just spit coffee out on my monitor

It is wonderful to see people who love their jobs. Nurses especially. At the high school where my daughter goes, it is a guy nurse. He tells them to suck it up and go back to class. She just calls me and tells me to check her out, she doesn't deal with him

ROFLMAO!

I love my job because...well, hell, give me a few - I'm sure I'll be able to think of something.

School nurses are absolute lifesavers, especially for working moms! Not to infer that they take the place of a mom but they're there, on the spot, when a kid is sick until mom can come pick them up!

I love my job because I'm again working for myself and can stay in my pajamas the entire day if I want too. I love to paint and at last have the time to do it... and getting paint on my pjs is better than on something I might really like to wear!

Great post Beth.

What a perfect tribute, esp this time of year when those poor school nurses are dealing with so many sick kids. UGH!
I am a SAHM, so I love my "job" because of all of the cuddles :)

Happy Tuesday!

Very funny indeed.
Oddly, the Nurse where I taught was Nurse Nancy.
I'm not convinced she had quite so much fun as the kindergartner though yours has..........!

The School Nurse rules. Unless she won't let you go home from school when you're on LSD, and instead lets you just lay down till it passes. Course, it's a good thing when she drives you home then after school.

Yes, true story. Or so I heard . . .

Hey I love your blog! I just found you & read the last 4 or 5 posts & you are hilarious. Makes me wish there was a fun place like this to share my funny kid stories when they were small & provided lots of blog fodder.
I'll be back!
