Love one another

Pain and affliction fill the air

I feel helpless and undeserving

Why should I have these comforts

When others have none?

I’ll give. I’ll pray.

Will you do the same?

Unless you live under a rock, you've heard about the tragedy in Haiti. My heart breaks for the people there. Please consider giving in some way, shape or form. There are many agencies and churches out there who are collecting money and donations. Even my students are bringing in their change for us to donate to the Red Cross. You don't want to be showed up by elementary students, do you?

This is a Sunday 160. The Sunday 160 only uses 160 characters (including spaces). For more information, visit Monkey Man (a creative genius!).

And if you give to the Red Cross head over to my son's blog and make him run for it. http://runningforrelief.blogspot.com/2010/01/running-for-haiti.html

He will run 1 mile for every $10 you give. As my friend Casey said; Run Forrest!

That's beautiful, Beth. I've already sent a check out to the Red Cross. It's the very least I can do. It's so heartbreaking.

I donated something yesterday! It is tragic.

I like how technology has assisted the fund raising. My kids have used their phones to text donations, which seems brilliant. We emptied our huge change bottle for the tsunami years ago; it's taken this long to fill again, and I think it's time.

Awesome post, Beth! We're definitely on the same wavelength.

Thank you Beth. I never intend to have the Sunday 160 be a 'theme' but this is one time I am grateful people like you are doing so. Let's make it go comletely viral.

You and Monkey Man remind us to open our hearts and help in every way we can. Thank you for caring and for reminding us to do the same.

Like your 160 Beth.

Yesterday while we were watching the news, hubs turned to me and said, "I wish I could just go there and help in person." Never loved him more.

perfectly and beautifully stated.

That was great Beth. We have donated through doctors without borders but I want to find ways to do more. My company does a dollar for dollar match, and the other day they announced they were going to do a 2:1 match for haiti relief. We will probably do more again the next paycheck, given that basically I have the opportunity to triple my donation.

It seems like our students are the ones to really come through in a lot of difficult situations. Makes me rethink "innocence."

Oh, Beth. What you did with your 160 is outstanding.

You are INCREDIBLY talented to be able to write so well within the 160 constraints.

This is what you need to do after you have a handful of these: Log onto Shutterfly.com and create a book with these and some of your photos. The 8x8 books would be perfect and during the course of the year they have all kinds of sales or free shipping, etc. You should save your talent in hardcover for you and your family!

Yes, we can't live under a rock and expect the world to become a better place. Yea for the Red Cross and all that they do and yea, to those who support them.

Great post Beth!
