The green-eyed monster
Silently spews his venom
Tears through friendship
Destroys the family tie
Without it, there would be no change
With it, there will be no peace
I tried the 160 character challenge. For more info go see Monkey Man.

Sure, Beth, envy is one of our primal urges. Without it, we wouldn't get off our duff and do anything. Can be a motivator of sorts.
Oh, that's such a good point! Love your blog.
Can I please quote your 'Sunday 160' on my blog... you've given me an idea?
Thank you x

Wow, Beth. Great point.
Oh Envy - #1 in my world of Seven Deadly Sins, and one I've struggled with for a very long time.
Better than wrath or lust though, right?
I LOVE this. Fantastic job.
good one.
Neat post
Truer words never spoken.
And here's my Sunday 160:

Very nice Beth... and I decided to try your challenge. Also, visiting Monkey Man is a hoot... great tunes he has!
Two sides to every story so to speak. Good post. Envy sometimes spurs us on to make a move to better things. But if we sit on it and chew on it and hold it close like a lover, it can become more important than it really is.
Intense - well written
fabulous 160 beth! so glad you are joining in on this one. envy will rip a heart to shreds as well as your own identity.
"Tears through friendship,
Destroys the family tie."
Really like this!
You are so right! Great words for today Beth!
Yes, envy can be a very destructive force! A terrific 160!
Mine is up, as well.
that's downright deep, beth! seriously, it is something i tell myself i don't struggle with but i realize sometimes even though i may not have the actual "envious thought", i do have a negative visceral reaction towards someone or something that is probably just as destructive.
Ah, Beth - again you impress me, both with your photography and your written verse.
I'm, ah, a tad envious. :P
Amazing how much story you can tell in a "Text". Great 160. My own is up - but very late - you will have to read it to find out why.
Envy is something I am constantly struggling with. I'm trying to become less of a green-eyed monster this year. The only person my envy hurts....is me.
Telling a story, creating a theme, all in 160. Very good.
envy can be a great motivating force - or lead to a great depression and years of sadness (yeah, I'm always looking on the sunny side)
Love it.
Serendipity Beth. I have been wrestling with envy today... and you nailed it.
love that, excellent job. and love the gerber daisy shot. my fave fleur.
Great!! Envy can eat at you!!
VERY impressive.
Have a great week.

Beth, I hope you save these. You have a gift with words and a talent for working withing monkey man's guidelines! Seriously, seriously good.
Well put, never thought of envy as a monster and certainly not as one with green eyes, but that's a great way of picturing it.
