This is just how we roll

Mr. Strong: “Now, tell me again.  How many people are coming to our house for Thanksgiving?”

Me: “Are you serious!  I’ve already told you 52 times! We are having 21 people.”

Mr. Strong: “And just for me, let’s go over the menu again.”

Me (sighing loudly because we’ve gone over the menu a bazillion times): “I think I just want to kill myself.  We are having turkey, brunswick stew, dressing, sweet potato crunch, green beans, broccoli casserole, squash casserole… key lime cake, pumpkin cheesecake…”

Mr. Strong (beginning to sharpen a knife): “I just need to know that we have enough food.”

Me: “All you are responsible for is the turkey.  That is all.  Don’t worry about the rest.  Just do the turkey.”

Mr. Strong: “But with 21 people, do you think we have enough food?

Me (through gritted teeth): “You are starting to sound like your mother.”

Mr. Strong (handing me the knife with a big smile): “Here you go.  Just in case.  You know with that suicide business.”

Thanksgiving was a hit.  We have leftovers enough to feed an army.  E-mail me and I’ll send directions.

Otin - You'd have to drive a little further than Atlanta. We live near the swamp. But come on down...

Brian - I'll save a piece for you.

Ah yes, the prethanksgiving banter. Men are confused, women are exhausted...

happy bird day!

Now for the best part of the day...shopping, I only wish I had some key lime cake for the wait while I stand in line at Walmart for 2+ hours for some piece of electronics equipment we don't need in the wee hours of the morning.

Happy Turkey Day...

My kids are already groaning about leftovers. Maybe we can swap.

Turkey Swap. New reality show on the TV food network. We'll make a million.

I sense a comrade. also find myself slightly annoyed by husband's questioning and attempts at micromanaging while doing nothing. The drink a lot. it getts bad ugly.

Turkey Swap. now that's an idea!

We had fried chicken instead of turkey. Glad to hear your dinner for 21 turned out great. That sounds like so much work to cook for so many people now, but years ago I did that with no problem and enjoyed it. Different stages in life I guess. Hugs to you and your wonderful family.

Yummy leftovers!!! Freeze them for a winter snack in a couple months.

I like your twist with a key lime pie. I bought a pumpkin cheesecake from the cheesecake factory. Absolutely wonderful!!!

<3 brunswick stew.

We got this great barbecue place here that serves the best brunswick stew and baked beans. If you're ever over this way (i think you're close by me), hit me up and i'll let you know where it is. :)
