We're going to need a bigger island

This past weekend, Mr. Strong and I went to the beach along with Mr. Funny and some of our friends. It was a much needed break and I enjoyed walking on the beach with my sweet husband then swimming in the ocean with my youngest son. The weather was just perfect!

As we were galavanting on the beach on Sunday, we noticed some fish jumping out of the water. Then we noticed this.

Yes! That is a SHARK! The Jaws music didn't even play in the background.

Next time, I'm not hanging out on the beach with my lawyer friend.

Ack! Fins to the left!

I have yet to go to the beach this summer. It's a 10 minute drive.

Sigh.

Was he alive??

Yeah, lawyers do tend to bring the predators a little closer in to shore. Or maybe that is just my lawyer brother-in-law

A real live shark? Yikes! Where you had been swimming? Yikes!

Eh, not that big - he would've just nibble on your toes a little bit.

Why I adore swimming on the northwest side of Florida - the water is so clear, you can see them coming :-)

P.S. LOVE the title.

What a party spoiler!!! I bet you will think long and hard before dipping your toes in the ocean again.

Shit dude! you almost died! Everybody knows that sharks are godless killing machines. That guy was coming right for you.

You totally DO need to bring your lawyer friend next time - (a) so you can push them into the shark's jaws if needed; and (b) to sue someone. I'm not sure who, but someone has got it coming!

Plus, I REALLY do not like how close he is to shore. For some reason, I was under the mistaken impression that sharks needed deep water. WTF!? Is nothing sacred!?!?

How frightening! Good picture though. I don't think even Jacques Cousteau would stand so close.

WHERE were you at the beach?!?! that is pretty crazy! we went fishing this weekend and my husband caught a teeny tiny little shark. the kids were freaking out because a) they thought it was really cool and b) they were scared out of their minds. then the shark threw up all over my husbands foot and it suddenly became the funniest thing anyone saw EVER.

Eeeeeeks!! Scary! I wouldn't be going back there either!

I especially liked when you said you had time to walk along the beach with your sweet husband. Nice, huh.

And this is why I am glad I live in England. Only sharks here are in tanks, courts or offices!

Yikes... cute comment about "hanging out on the beach with my lawyer friend"! Hope school is going well. I'm sure the beach weekend was a good reprise from the grind.

What is going on with all these beaching animals. We had a baby beached whale a few days ago. Poor thing.

I saw one from a similar distance last Spring while running the dog on the beach. I was more worried that the dog would go after it than anything else!

Ok, that is really really cool.
