I’m thinking about joining the circus

randomtuesday Possibly I’d have a bit more time for myself.  Besides, I seem to already spend a lot of time with clowns.

-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

We (and by we, I mean me) finally finished filling out all the FAFSA and financial aid paperwork and now I’m a little discouraged.  If all of these *smart* people at these big universities need me to repeat myself and fax copies of information they already have on file, why should I trust them to educate my child?

-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

My first half marathon is in 5 days!  I’m so excited I could pee myself!  Here is a picture of the design that is being painted on my t-shirt.

IMG_9116It says, “Cinderella ~ proof that a new pair of shoes can change your life!”  I’m not often a pink girl but I found these fabulous black knee socks with pink polka-dots…  And I had to get them!

-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

My parents are going to Disney for my half marathon and for some reason, that just cracks me up.  When I was on the basketball team in 8th grade, my mother didn’t go to any of the games.  Though she would have seen that I had mad bench warming skills.

-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

I am attempting to take a picture every day for 365 days.  So far, there are too many that are a half-a$$ed attempts so good.  You can see my progress here.

-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

I can’t wait to get to school today so I can hear about the kid with the snake bite.  He was bitten on Sunday but didn’t tell his parents.  Once he got to school, he stopped by the office to have the school nurse take a look.  She freaked calmly called his parents to take him to the doctor ASAP!  More on that developing story later.

Happy Tuesday!

I ran track in high school and my parents didn't go to one meet. I accidentally on purpose forgot to invite them to the banquet when I got my Varsity letter.
I would like to think that they would show up if I were to run a big race like yours.
I am very excited to read about your upcoming race at the house of Mouse, and your parents vacation.
Love your shirt design...

Half marathon is a great accomplishment.

I'm bored out of my mind after 3 miles. What's you're secret?

Snake bite drama - I think that may be a first..

I'd like to know why the kid didn't tell his parents about the snake bite. Maybe they had repeatedly warned him not to throw stones at snakes?!

I'm sorry I had to bail on the Project365 - things just got hairy in my house there for a bit.

I'm going to start again, as soon as I can think of something to take a picture of.

Half marathon? Good luck! I'm very impressed. And you gotta keep us informed about the snake bite. I'm sure that's gonna be a great story.

i can NOT wait to hear about the run! i have already told you how impressed i am. i "ran" cross country in high school, but i would only run at the beginning and end of each race. once i was out of sight, i would just walk.

don't forget to elaborate on the snake story!

off to check out your photos.

A half marathon! Wow! Good luck. Totally worth driving to Disney for. ;)

How did that kid NOT tell his parents? Mine would've been screaming bloody murder and begging for an ER visit, possibly a helicopter.

My favorite part of your post was the problem with the smart people at the university who can't remember a thing. That is what happens when you never leave the hallowed halls.

The FAFSA is such a pain in the butt! I had to do the paper version this year so I will miss getting the results within a day or two, like normal!

That snake bite thing....I can't believe he didn't tell his parents!

You're going to RAWK that polkadot stuff in your 1/2 mari. Good luck and take pics so we can go nuts over your achievement, will ya?

Seriously, an unreported snake bite? Why would a kid not tell his parents about that?

Maureen@IslandRoar said...

Didn't tell his parents he was bit by a snake? Can't wait to hear that one.
Love the T shirt. I am so impressed you're doing this half marathon!!
And all that FAFSA stuff sucks big time!! First time's the worst tho...

Well, if you really have to wear pink, that's the way to go! My husband runs full marathons, and I NEVER show up, t'would only encourage him.. that said, I do have a sneaky admiration for those fitter than me - good luck, hope it's not too painful (evil cackle).

Can I swap that kid with the snakebite for one of mine? Oh, for a low maintenance kid..!

otin said...

LOL! at the clowns!

It is nice that your parents are going to watch you run. They are obviously proud of you.

Was the snake a poisonous one? Isn't it a little early for snakes?

lakeviewer said...

Ah, your parents are trying to keep up with you! Besides, it's at Disney's. Now, who could turn that down?

Debbie said...

You are so right about the FAFSA, which I haven't started, by the way.
And I want to hear more on snake bite boy!
