Too funny. Isn't the line at the restroom the way it is for women no matter where it is?
heh...I would have eloped
Really? This really happened? ?That is not good, but kinda funny!
TechnoBabe - One potty for a woman's bathroom is just not enough. Especially when one wants to escape the heat.
Chief - Yeah. Or at least planned something inside.
Jason - I estimated the prices but we really were at an outdoor wedding in stiffling heat dodging massive bugs. It will be a wedding to remember.
Stories like these make me think I did the right thing by running away to get married.
Stories like these make me glad my daughter eloped.
This is priceless Beth. I can picture it all. We are having horrid humidity here too.
I wouldn't mind one of those cupcakes though...
Humm I would take the heat and humidity to the frost and almost snow. It was 36 degrees this morning. The only bonus to the cold weather is that all the bugs have almost been killed off.
$750 cupcakes? You must have been composing your blog post all day long...
Bwahahahaha! Loves it.
how very bittersweet!
at least the bathrooms were AC'd though blech otherwise
Those must have been the best cupcakes in the world!
lol. $750 for cupcakes...too rich for me...whew.
And how lovely everyone smelled at the end of the day!
The bathroom cost more than the bridal dress?
Great post! Ha! :)
Great post! Ha! :)
Grab a cupcake and run!
royal restroom? i don't want to know what makes a toilet royal...
laughing at all the comments. Yes, what does make a bathroom royal? mine would be royal if it cleaned itself!
very funny post!
New rule- if I have to sit through an outdoor wedding- NO GIFT! That's right people. Get married in front of a picture window. Don't asked people to wear suits and cocktail attire and sit in the elements.
Cristin - Yes! I agree.
Linda - Agreed.
Pseudo - The cupcakes were only okay. But then again, I don't like fondant icing. In the heat. With gnats.
sun lover - We don't get that many frosty days. However, we have had a very toasty fall.
movie - My husband catered the wedding - but he isn't a baker. Still, it became my job to restock the tiers with cupcakes for all of the guests. The cake people never stay to make sure all goes well with their sugary concoctions.
Aunt Becky - I thought it was funny, too!
dizzblnd - It was hot enough to want to stay inside the bathroom trailer. Gross didn't even cross my mind.
Kristina - They were disappointing.
Brian M. - And they were too buggy.
Mango - When I got home, I took a shower. Whether I needed one or not.
Goddess - Good point.
Susan - Thanks!
Moll - I think the bugs had the same idea.
Jaime - A royal restroom is basically a trailer consisting of 2 or 3 FLUSHING toilets with AC, music, and TV. It had all the creature comforts - and was big, too.
Bambi - Personally, the AC made it royal for me.
Lucy - I agree! Since my husband caters, we have served at several outdoor weddings and receptions. It is chance-y with the weather and often miserable with the bugs.
Even better? RSVP-ing: "Busy, sorry!"
So hope the bride and groom sucked in every minute of their day .... or better still, got to use that loo.
Weddings are biggggg business. One can put money down on a house for the price of one reception.
If I redid my wedding, I would just elope. NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!
...my dream would have been to get married on the beach with just my husband and I. We could use a stranger for a witness. My husband would agree that this idea is divine.
They may be fancy and all but it's still a port-o-potty with perks!
Those cupcakes...yum!
I know weddings are a huge business but I just can't imagine spending that kind of money on one.
Ha! I would have done the exact same thing. I can't stand to be hot!
